Baptism
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

Baptisms are celebrated during or after most of our parish liturgies. We are happy to accommodate your family schedule.

We offer three, one-hour sessions for parents and sponsors when you are baptizing your first child. We also offer a simple refresher if you baptized an older child within the last couple of years. We schedule the sessions as needed. Please contact Jim Merhaut at 330.743.2308 for more information or to register.
Eucharist
Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ's Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God
Reconciliation
The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance, or Penance and Reconciliation, or sometimes referred to as Confession) has three elements: conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God's unconditional forgiveness, and as a result we are called to forgive others.

Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturday at 3:30 pm or by appointment.
Pastoral Care of the Sick
If a family member is seriously ill, hospitalized or homebound, please contact the parish office to arrange for a pastoral visit. Sr Therese Ann , Deacon James Smith and/or Msgr Robert Siffrin will visit the sick and/or homebound.

From ancient times there is evidence of the anointing of the sick in the Church’s tradition drawing upon the Book of James (5:14-15). Through the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, Christ strengthens the faithful who are afflicted by illness, providing them with the strongest means of support. This Sacrament, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing, which may be in the form of physical, emotional and/or spiritual healing

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated when requested.
Marriage
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.

Arrangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony are to be made at least six months before the date of the wedding. Please call Msgr Robert Siffrin 330.743.2308 to make arrangements. Pre-sacramental preparation is required of all couples.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. Like Baptism and Eucharist, it is a Sacrament of Initiation for Catholics and a Sacrament of faith in God's fidelity to us.

Young women and men of the parish celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation so as to reaffirm their commitment to Christian living and to more deeply explore their relationship with Christ .

The Confirmandi (those to be Confirmed) involve themselves in preparation for the Bishop’s visit to our parish so that they may be in full membership in the life of the church. Contact Mr. Jim Merhaurt at 330.743.2308

Baptized adult Catholics who have already received First Eucharist are asked to contact Sister Therese Ann at 330.743.2308 for information.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Christian Initiation of Adults is for anyone who would like to learn more about the Catholic Faith.

The R.C.I.A. process attempts to meet the individual based on their particular needs. It is for:
  • Adults baptized in another Christian church, or
  • Adults who are not baptized, or
  • Adults who have been baptized Catholic but never received Confirmation and Eucharist

Come, listen and learn and then decide if you would like to be received into the Catholic Faith.
