willingly share with you, your responsibility regarding the religious education
of your children. If you have any questions, requests, problems or suggestions,
please feel free to contact Jim Merhaut at 330.743.2308 or stop in the rectory.
Be assured of continued prayers for you and your family.
Administration
Most faith formation programs, with the exception of Marriage and entrance into
the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA),
are administered through the Office of Religious Education.
LifeLong Faith Formation opportunities are offered seasonally, as well as faith
formation programs as requested or assessed as need by the parish community.
These programs are administered under the guidance of Jim Merhaut, Director of
Religious Education.
Children's Rite of Initiation
This program is offered for children age 8 through 18 who have not yet been
baptized, or who have been baptized but received no catechesis. For various
reasons, some families are unable to baptize their children in infancy, or if
they did baptize them, were unable to rear them in the faith. If this is your
situation, you are invited to call Jim Merhaut at 330.743.2308 to enroll your
child in this program.
If you have a child age four through 8 who has not yet been baptized, but you
would like to have your child receive the sacraments in the traditional order,
please call Jim to catechize your child for baptism, and then Reconciliation and
Eucharist may be received in the second grade, with Confirmation in the eighth
grade.

The Family Religious Education program is for families who want to learn about
and explore their faith together. The families meet once a month on Sunday
morning from 9:30 – 11:30 am for a meal and a family-friendly learning session.
Contact Jim Merhaut at 330.743.2308 for more information.
Youth Ministry
This program for junior high and high school students involves components of
instruction in the faith, service opportunities, prayer experiences, and field
trips that include attendance at the National Catholic Youth Convention.
Directed by a team of adults, the social
service component of living the faith through a variety of outreach experiences
helps our youth to become leaders in the faith and to live it as part of their
identity. This is a high-energy group who are open and honest about their faith
concerns and actively deal with their questions.
They meet on the first Sunday of the month after the 11:30 AM mass. Contact Jim
Merhaut at 330.743.2308
